Do you remember being a kid and fantasizing about all kinds of magical forest creatures?

Uta Bekaia, the NYC based Georgian artist, does just that in his new installation “Inhabitants of Childhood.” The forest was Bekaia’s favorite childhood playground teasing his creative imagination. The installation the artist brought to life is based on his childhood fantasies— his sculptures are half animals, half invented creatures.

As you think of Bekaia and see his art, the word “experiment” comes to mind. Bekaia is a multimedia artist—in his work he uses various kinds of media. He combines performance with wearable sculptures. He mixes video with sewing and embroidering craft. His art shows are always colorful, avant-garde and outrageous.

“Inhabitants of Childhood” will take place at TurnPark from July 1st 2018 to October 31, 2018. Don’t miss a chance to connect to your inner child through the prism of Bekaia’s imagination.
